"Violence is always the answer"

The Guns are the oldest Faculty, started the first year that Alliance High opened. The Guns also have the longest ancestry, as it's said even in Walter Hazelwood's Institute a collective emerged that emphasized vigilante justice. The Guns don't discredit the power of words, but they're realistic enough to understand that words simply can't solve everything. It's not always about offense, either. Defending oneself is equally as important as raven black antagonism.

The Guns have several symbols that identify them, ranging from the subtle to the blatant. Silver and black are Guns colors, and rings serve to illustrate the rank and accomplishments of members. The skull and cross-guns is a popular illustration, but one that clearly identifies them and that's not always the point and purpose of an interaction.

Most customers are sent a calling card in the form of Tarot. This card represents who will be fulfilling the mission. The Emperor, the leader, is rarely called upon as most assignments are not deemed important enough for him to make an appearance. However, the more the customer is willing to pay, the more dangerous the mission, and the target all determine whom will be dispatched.

Security would be how to describe the Guns' intentions in the noblest of ways. To the underdogs who need protecting to providing the security team at school functions, the Guns have got this area covered. They are willing to help other faculties as long as they get something in return. However, the Guns also have a darker side. They can be described as hit-men (and women) who take out those who are causing trouble. They use physical force rather than strong words to get their way. Intimidation and strength are two important qualities for a Guns member to possess.

Admittedly, the Guns have one of the most unexpected headquarters. In the basement of what is now Taco Bell lie three separate doors.

Beyond the door on the right is the "lounge" area in which members of the Guns are able to sit back and relax; they may discuss anything from lovers to schoolwork to new assignments. Beyond the door to the left is the supply room. It is always kept locked, and only the Emperor has the key. Last but not least is the door at the end of the hall. Important meetings are conducted within, but many of the members are unaware of what lies beyond the door.

The Guns started with a passionate young man named Diran Callaghan. In his freshman year, he rounded up some of his closest friends and founded The Guns. At first, they simply offered their services to the school. When students began to start rumors of mafia connections, their popularity sky-rocketed. By Diran's sophomore year, the Guns had became a permanent faculty.

Clients came from both inside and outside the school. It was the numerous demands for their services that landed them Job Request #008172. Every Gun knows this case backwards, forwards, and upside down. This job was big enough to warrant the leader's involvement. However, things didn't go as planned. It was a set-up and it ended in fatal shots.

No one knows what happened, but no one was ever faulted and Diran graduated, passing the leadership position to Zachary Schaffer, a freshman with seemingly no involvement in the faculty. Many prospective members, including those who were hoping to obtain the position felt slighted, but those who were loyal stayed on because they trusted their previous leader's judgment. Diran Callaghan took back over the position upon Zakk's graduation, hoping to ensure the safety of Alliance.

Diran Callaghan is the founder and leader of the Guns. Once he graduated, he passed the leadership position onto his younger half-brother Zachary Schaffer, however, he has always pulled strings from behind the scenes, and when Zakk graduated, he decided to reclaim his title and let his position be known.

He doubles as the secretary at the school, bound by blood to his faculty and position. Sarcastic and pessimistic, it's never quite clear what Diran is thinking. He requires respect first and foremost from his faculty members as well as loyalty- only then can a person move up the ranks.

Rings are one of the Guns symbols, and also how they convey a member's experience. Different rings are awarded for different tasks, and the quantity and quality of what a Gun wears on their left hand says volumes about their capabilities.

• Silver Wire: A very slim hoop of silver wire is the simplest signifier of accomplishment. This smallest ring stand for any useful deed or small completed job.
  
• Silver Circle: About 5 mm thick, this ring symbolizes ten Silver Wires.
  
• Silver Cuff: A cm thick, this ring symbolizes five Silver Circles.
  
• Raven Ring: A raven ring is a thicker metallic ring, all black but for a thin strip of color through it. Similar to belts in karate, the colored stripe down the middle signifies how many jobs a Gun has organized or run. Beginning at White, the colors go in reverse rainbow order, with solid black coming after red.
  
• Black Spiral: This ring is a long spiral design meant to wrap around the base of the finger from one knuckle to the next. A gun that possesses this ring is one trusted in the leader's innermost circle.
  
• Silver Skull: A thick ring with an engraved skull symbolizes a member of the Guns who, though a rarity, owns a gun.

The Guns operates more in a "mafia" style than other faculties. There is a noticeable hierarchy amongst the members. New members must first prove themselves through hard-work and devotion before they are promoted in the ranks. Members may also lose their position due to a failed mission or doubts about loyalty.
