Fall Semester

Diran's Halloween Celebration, aka, the Funhouse Plot, has started! Students going into the maze should wait for the UNI post introducing the event before splitting into their assigned sections, but all members of Alliance High may attend the party!

Be careful what you do. You never know who's watching you.

Faculty membership is now mandatory! Make sure any future students signs up for one of three: Bangles, Players, Guns.

The Elridge County Fair has begun! Students can catch a bus or drive to the fair grounds. A fireworks show starts at 8pm every night while the fair runs.

[ ]GQ Dorms (3 sub-boards)
The Gender Queer housing is one of Alliance's victories. Transgendered, transsexual, androgynous, and general gender queers are welcome in the most unique dorm on campus. One of the newest buildings, the GQ dorm was designed by an Alliance graduate architect - glossy white contours and Escher-esque stairways litter the puzzling dormitory.

[ ]The Sky Lounge
All three dormitories are connected by walkways that run through the Sky Lounge, a glass walled common room elevated three stories above the ground by an artistic collaboration of beams and columns. The Sky Lounge is freckled with couches, easy chairs, study desks, and a cabinet filled with board, card, and floor games. Faculties often 'claim' the lounge for their events, as its view is one of the best in Umarok.

[ ]Library (4 sub-boards)
Alliance's library is home to many locked doors and private collections. It isn't rare to see a well dressed investor disappearing behind one such door, though it is rare to see them leave with anything but perplexity on their faces. The library is shaped like a bee hive, four stories tall with an open atrium that goes all the way up. The librarian, Monsieur Dejuis, has an eerily encyclopedic knowledge of seemingly every book, reference, and location - and a bad habit of hearing any sound over 20 hz, no matter its volume.

[ ]Dining Room
The Alliance dining room hearkens directly back to its foundations as a private academy. Gothic architecture and carvings reminisce of Cambridge or Oxford line the walls. Solid, circular wooden tables pepper the floor, but can be cleared away for dances and special events. The cafeteria stands behind paneled doors that disappear into the wall when closed. Mystery meat is never an issue. In fact, if one makes friends with the chef, they might be able to sneak midnight snacks or extra helpings of chilled fruit soups.

[ ]Classrooms
Classrooms vary greatly at Alliance High. Some, like the science and computer laboratories, are stocked with the highest caliber equipment that some universities would envy. Others, like the lecture rooms for history and math, still share the old, worn, familiar feel of wooden desks and sliding green chalkboards.

[ ]Velavir Forest (1 sub-board)
Velavir (Velavier, to some) is nature's equivalent to a madwoman. The paths through the forest are many and wandering. One of the reasons for curfew is the surprising number of students who've been lost in the forest, some for days. At times Velavir is alive with filtered sunlight, chirping birds, and the occasional flag of a startled white tailed deer. At other times, Velavir is a grasping labyrinth of ancient pines and ghastly whistling wood chinks.

[ ]The Headmaster's Cottage
Rumors say that enough wandering in the forest will bring one, eventually and with more than a little luck, to the front door of a stunning cottage that looks something out of a fairy tale. It's called the Heasmaster's Cottage, though evidence to affirm this name is scarce. Wildflowers surround the twisting, winding cottage, littered in turrets, alcoves, half floors and winding gingerbread lacing. Mossy window boxes overflow with alyssum, carefully cultivated amidst the wilds of the wood.

[ ]The Athletics Grounds (3 sub-boards)
The Athletics Grounds focus around the Alliance High Stadium, home of the Pandas. Alliance is known for its broad range of athletics, so it isn't uncommon to find archery equipment, caving and climbing harnesses, and the occasional speedo amongst the jock straps.

The only common residential area outside of the curious apartments downtown and the dormitories is a small subdivision called New Glen. A multitude of hills makes for a multitude of valleys, and, with the addition of rivers: gorges. The gorges of Umarok can be stunning - moss covered rock cliffs crowned in tree groves and falling down to shimmering water and dark stone.
